Item management system
Problem
MiraeN's vast catalog of items lived across paper workbooks and reference books, with items separated from their answer keys and explanations. They needed a way to consolidate the catalog as a digital asset and manage it in a standardized, reusable form.
Our Solution
We built on top of the RightStack assessment platform, integrating a third-party AI OCR product to recognize and structure items, answer keys, and explanations from the printed sources. Separated items and answer keys are auto-merged and catalogued in 1EdTech QTI 3.0 format. LTI 1.3 brings interoperability with learning tools, and a Minimal LRS — drawn from our own product experience — captures learner activity data. The output is reusable across both online and offline workflows.
Online assessment had to run reliably for learners across CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam) — over slow networks, on low-spec devices, fully web-based, with accessibility built in. No commercial product on the market at the time met all of those constraints together.
Our Solution
The RightStack assessment platform was adopted. Built entirely on web technology — no client install required — and optimized for low-bandwidth networks, it runs reliably in constrained environments. It meets WCAG accessibility standards, and standards compliance is anchored in 1EdTech QTI 3.0.
